Rope Testing Devices

SMRT

Stuttgart Magnetic Rope Testing

The well-known SMRT series for magnetic inductive testing of steel ropes has been extended and enhanced by further rope testing technologies which were developed in cooperation between IFT and MESOMATIC:

  • high-resolution measurement with Hall sensors
  • SHRT (Stuttgart High-Resolution Rope Testing)
  • LMA measurement (Loss Metallic Area)

The measurement electronics are available in the new version SMRT 1.8. In addition to the already known SMAQS recorder, the new SMAQS analyzer with many new features is now available. SDRT has already been integrated.

SVRT

Stuttgart Visual Rope Testing

The new visual testing device SVRT opens up new possibilities in rope testing (for wire as well as fiber ropes).

The new SVRT generates rope images with outstanding quality and resolution and can be combined with all SMRT testers.

SDRT

Stuttgart Diameter Rope Testing

The new SDRT devices allows contactless, fully automatic and precise measuring of rope diameters and also provides data about lay length, waviness, deformations and rope speed.

The device can be connected to new as well as old SMRT devices via a direct mechanical connection.

SMRT

Stuttgart Magnetic Rope Testing

SMRT is available in 4 basic sizes for different rope diameters:

  • SMRT25N: 5 ... 28 mm
  • SMRT40N: 14 ... 45 mm
  • SMRT60N: 35 ... 62 mm
  • SMRT70N: 35 ... 70 mm

Rope diameters of up to 140 mm can be tested with custom made testers.

„N“ stands for the new outfit:

Stainless steel housing, smoother surfaces, easy to clean and better protection.

SMRT 1.8 – The new measuring electronics

  • LMA and high-resolution measurement
  • 100% downward compatibility with all existing test instruments, measuring coils and accessories
  • Automatic recognition of conventional coils (analog) and SHRT sensors
  • Proven housing design and consistent dimensions of the SMRT1.5 system
  • SHRT provides high-resolution and LMA measurement with the existing test equipment
  • Stable WiFi connection with a high range (up to 100 m) with adjustable antenna (wired connection possible)
  • Local storage of measurement data and transmission by WiFi, USB and Ethernet
  • Long battery usage (8 h) and replaceable, rechargeable batteries
  • Connection to additional devices, inclusing SDRT, SVRT, or lifting device
  • Optical status indicator via light band and status display
  • Operation via laptop or as a stand-alone device
